EBay is a good place to look for patterns. Didn't think of that one. Thanks! I just got back from the library and found only 1 book of 40's things. At least they have several different things pictured. I think there was a pair of shorts for girls in there. AG really skipped sooooo much they could have done for Molly. I always thought her set was so boring, but not because I didn't like the era, but just what they offered was so blah. I also bought alot of fabric for dresses today. I'll post my first attempts pictures when I get through.

Another great resource is Dover Publications. A while back members recommended them to me. I have been a customer of theirs for over 20 years, but never paid attention to the catalog reprints and clothing resources they publish. Some day I hope to get one; I just can't decide which era. Since you have yours narrowed down to the 1940s, it should be easy to find a title that would work for inspiration.

I love the Jacket and hat set that adorevintage put up as well as the Navy jacket and pleated skirt with hat/beret. These two are adoreable and would be my first pic to make if I had the talent. Can't wait to see what you do!

Dover Publications does have Children's Fashions 1900-1950 As Pictured in Sears Catalogs, although it is light on the 1940s and 50s. Amazon has used copies of Fashionable Clothing from the Sears Catalogs: Early 1940s. I have the 1950s book and it is pretty good.

Unfortunately, my collection of Sears/Monkey Ward/Penneys/Aldens catalogs start in 1958.

    You're welcome!

I would LOVE LOVE to see the first one with the navy blue cropped jacket and the pleated jumpers... soooo cute! I especially love the little beret too!
